Moroccan Paralympic Team Aims for Medal Surge in Tokyo Games

The Moroccans engaged for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo promise to do better than five years ago in Rio where they only managed to win 7 medals.
There are 36 athletes who will represent Morocco at the Paralympic Games from August 24 to September 5 in Tokyo, Japan. The announcement was made by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for Persons with Disabilities, which specified that all athletes have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Among these athletes on whom Morocco counts to win medals in this competition, there is El Amine Chentouf (40 years old), who has two medals to his credit. He holds the world records in the 5,000m T12 (13:53.76) and the 10,000m T12 (29:38.85) since 2012 and 2013. We also find the El Geraa sisters, Najat and Hayat, as well as Mohamed Amgoun, Mahdi Afri and Azeddine Nouiri.
