Moroccan Olive Oil Earns Top Honors in Global Competition, Ranking Second in Madrid

A new consecration for Moroccan olive oil, which was ranked second finalist in an international competition organized in Madrid, Spain, the world’s leading producer of olive oil.
This is, according to the Map, the olive oil from the Domaine Arije in Marrakech, which was ranked second finalist in the "Medium Green" category of the 2019 edition of the "Mario Solinas" Quality Award of the International Olive Council (IOC).
In total, 164 olive oils from several countries were present at this edition, including 22 Moroccan extra virgin olive oils, the same source said, adding that the first prizes in the "Intense Green and Medium Green" categories were won by Spanish producers, while olive oils from Portugal and Italy won prizes respectively in the "Light Green" and "Ripe" categories.
An international jury composed of world specialists selected in each of the fruity groups and in accordance with the bases of the competition, the award-winning oils of the IOC Quality Award, before scoring out of 100 the olfactory, gustatory and retro-nasal sensations as well as the harmony, complexity and persistence, it is indicated.
It should be noted that last year the Domaine Arij de Marrakech had won the first prize in the "Medium Green" category, while the Société Oleafood (Les Conserves de Meknès) was awarded the third prize in the same category.
