Moroccan National Arrested at Algerian Hirak Protest, Police Say

During the 110th week of the peaceful Hirak protests, the police arrested a Moroccan on Friday, March 26 in Algiers. He is a 30-year-old man in an irregular situation on Algerian territory.
"The security services of the wilaya of Algiers succeeded today, Friday, March 26, at the level of the May 1st square, in arresting a person of Moroccan nationality who was infiltrating among the participants in the Hirak march," indicates the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in a statement. The same source specifies that the Moroccan national is 30 years old and "is in an irregular situation in Algeria." The security services of the wilaya of Algiers have opened an investigation to clarify this case.
On Friday, thousands of Hirak protesters marched in the capital to demand radical change in Algeria, including the establishment of a civil state and respect for freedom of expression. The Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights (LADDH) reports that these marches were marked by "dozens of arrests in several wilayas in Algiers, Blida, Tiaret and Relizane."
