Moroccan Muslims Await Ruling on COVID Vaccine During Ramadan Fast

A few weeks before Ramadan, many Moroccans are wondering if the vaccine against the coronavirus will have an impact on fasting. Pending a national fatwa from the Supreme Council of Ulema, specialists provide some insight on the subject.
A few days ago, the Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Ben Abdellah Al-Sheikh, was crystal clear on the subject. He had declared that the anti-Covid vaccine does not break the fast. Moroccans are awaiting a national fatwa from the Supreme Council of Ulema to be better informed on the subject. On the medical side, Dr. My Said Afif and Dr. Tayeb Hamdi provide some insight. According to them, the anti-Covid vaccine cannot in any way compromise the fast.

According to his explanations, "the act of vaccination will not disturb or modify anything in the human body". In short, "there is no precaution to be taken either before or after the vaccination act. And the person who receives his dose while fasting risks nothing at all," he added.
Side effects? "We started the vaccination campaign a long time ago and out of more than 5 million people vaccinated, we have only observed rare, minor and bearable side effects," reassured Dr. Hamdi. "The majority of adverse effects disappear without needing to use medication to treat them. A tiny fraction of those vaccinated may be led to take one after breaking the fast to relieve pain or fever," he explained.
"As for the very rare cases that need to use
