Morocco to Receive 600,000 AstraZeneca Vaccine Doses Through Covax Program

Morocco will receive, in the very near future, a second batch of AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Covax program. The vaccine doses will be shipped to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.
According to a source from the National Technical Vaccination Committee, Morocco will receive 600,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine from the British-Swedish laboratory AstraZeneca, manufactured in South Korea, reports Le360. This delivery will be effective in the very near future.
Morocco had received 300,000 doses of vaccine thanks to the COVAX mechanism, last April, bringing the total number of doses received to 900,000. With this new delivery, the kingdom will accelerate its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus launched in January.
As of May 2, 5,055,239 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 4,260,605 people have received the second dose.
