Moroccan Music Industry Rocked by Wave of Plagiarism Accusations

Several Moroccan artists have been accused of plagiarism in recent years. The reported productions have been removed from YouTube.
Hicham Telmoudi accused Saad Lamjarred of plagiarism for his song "Salam". Telmoudi accuses the latter of having used without his agreement an excerpt from his song "Ahwash" produced in 2015 and of which he holds the copyrights. YouTube has removed the song targeted from Lamjarred’s official channel.
As for Basma Boussil, she was accused of having taken up a song by composer Oussama Rahbani, recently interpreted by Hiba Tawaji. For his part, the artist Nouaman Belaiachi was accused of plagiarism for his song "Ila Bghiti", the clip of which was removed from his YouTube channel after being reported.
Recently, popular singer Mous Maher accused Yemeni artist Balqees Fathi of plagiarism for her latest song "Taw’ak Qalbik", accusing her of having taken up the melody of his song "Al-Gharam", performed with Algerian singer Reda Taliani.
