Moroccan Mountain Resort Ifrane Unveils Tourism Recovery Plan Post-COVID

Ifrane is a popular destination for Moroccan tourists. After the health crisis due to covid-19, the province is developing a strategy to restart the machine.
The governor of the province, Abdelhamid El Mazid, praised the collective efforts made by the kingdom in the face of the state of emergency, without forgetting to salute the classification of the province in zone 1. Returning to the recovery, the governor announces the implementation of a program that can attract more tourists, while reassuring local operators that the necessary support will be provided to them, to mitigate the impact of Covid-19.
On the professional side, they advocate the revision of the collection of taxes and duties, as well as the temporary use of public domain spaces, to ensure social distancing.
In addition, they announce the ongoing construction of 35 new tourist accommodation establishments with a capacity of 2,000 beds, for a total investment of 385.5 million dirhams. Last year, Ifrane had 62 hotels with a capacity of over 3,000 beds.
