The Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has ordered regional delegates to ensure that preachers fully comply with the country’s religious constants. Imams must now use only sermons prepared by the Higher Council of Ulema, considered the foundation of the national guiding framework. The ministerial note also requires the continuation of specific liturgical traditions, such as the collective recitation of the Quran after prayer and communal supplications, to guarantee the spiritual cohesion of the community.

The emphasis is on preserving the Maliki rite and the dress codes specific to the Kingdom. This official response comes after 1 313 violations were recorded, particularly in Casablanca-Settat, involving non-traditional prayer postures and negligence in the call to prayer. The ministry also denounced the abandonment of certain liturgical practices and the adoption of clothing deemed foreign to Moroccan identity.
