On Friday, four Moroccans returned to the kingdom after braving the sea from Ceuta. The Spanish police stopped two others in their tracks.
Many Moroccans stranded in Ceuta are resorting to reverse illegal immigration ("Hrig") to return to Morocco. Four people swam from Ceuta to reach the Moroccan coast at the Tarajal border crossing. While these four Moroccans succeeded, two others were prevented by the Spanish police.
Morocco had closed its borders on March 13. But 285 of its nationals blocked in the autonomous city of Ceuta have already been repatriated. They are confined in hotel establishments in the city of Saïdia.
