Moroccan Migrant Rescued from Surfboard in Daring Gibraltar Strait Crossing

A Moroccan man was rescued by a merchant ship in the middle of the sea. He was crossing the Strait of Gibraltar, on a surfboard, and heading towards the coast of Cadiz. He was saved on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 8:46 pm, thanks to a merchant ship.
The 30-year-old man was showing severe symptoms of hypothermia, due to the low water temperature. He was taken to the Ceuta marina on a merchant ship, reports the website 20minutos.es.
Indeed, the "Salvamar Atria", based in the Port of Ceuta, took the young migrant to the Red Cross personnel, who then took him in charge. He will be transferred to the National Police premises for his transfer to Morocco, in application of the Immigration Law.
