Moroccan Midfielder Boufal Tops La Liga Dribbling Stats, Outpacing Messi
With 144 dribbles, the Moroccan player of Celta Vigo, Sofiane Boufal, was elected best dribbler of the Spanish liga, surpassing the star of Barça Lionel Messi, author of 133 dribbles.
The 25-year-old midfielder, famous for his famous dribbles, was however only able to score three goals during the 2018/19 season. He was loaned to Celta Vigo by the English club Southampton.
Convinced of the Moroccan’s performances, the Spanish club said it was ready to recruit Boufal permanently, and negotiate a clause of 15 million euros, agreed with Southampton during the summer transfer window.
Sofiane Boufal made his appearance with the national team during the match against Cape Verde, counting for the qualifications for the Africa Cup of Nations, before playing two other friendly matches against Tunisia and Burkina Faso.
