Moroccan Midfielder El Azzouzi Sidelined Until 2025 with Cervical Hernia

Bad news for the supporters of the Atlas Lions and the Bologna club: Oussama El Azzouzi is forced to stay away from the pitch until the end of 2024.
The Moroccan midfielder, who stood out during the Paris 2024 Olympics, is suffering from a cervical hernia. Despite attempts at treatment, the player ultimately had to undergo surgery at the Bordeaux hospital, under the supervision of Professor Pierre Bernard.
His club, Bologna, announced a 60-day unavailability period, which means that El Azzouzi should not return to competition before the end of the year. A blow for the Italian team, which loses a key element of its squad, especially after the departures of two important players this summer.
El Azzouzi’s absence is also a problem for the national coach, Walid Regragui, who was counting on him, particularly for his ability to play in central defense, a position where he shone during the Olympics.
Regragui even commented on the player’s absence, emphasizing his commitment and sacrifice for the national team. He also hinted that El Azzouzi’s participation in the Olympics could be the cause of the worsening of his injury.
