Moroccan Marathon Star Al Mahjoub Dazza Suspended for Doping Ahead of Tokyo Olympics

The Athletics Integrity Unit, an independent organization responsible for the fight against doping for the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), provisionally suspended the Moroccan marathoner Al Mahjoub Dazza for doping on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
According to the organization, Al Mahjoub Dazza used prohibited substances, thus violating the global anti-doping rules. This suspension of the Moroccan athlete comes just a few months before the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Al Mahjoub Dazza, 28 years old, is 8th in the world ranking. In 2019, he had achieved good performances. He had won the marathons of Prague in the Czech Republic (2:05:58) and Fukuoka in Japan (2:07:10).
