Moroccan Man Sentenced for Public Indecency at French McDonald’s

The Briey court sentenced, on Tuesday, May 19, a Moroccan to three months in prison with probationary suspension. He is accused of having exposed himself on January 20 in front of two young women in their twenties at the entrance of the McDonald’s restaurant.
The trial took place on Tuesday in the courtroom of the Briey court, in the absence of the two victims. At the bar, the defendant, a thirty-year-old man from Morocco and his interpreter. Aziz, who had joined France in October 2019, does not master the French language.
The facts date back to January 20, 2020. The young Moroccan goes to Briey after leaving a reception center in Metz. He decides to drown his loneliness in alcohol. He asks for a bottle of whiskey, five cans of beer. He then heads towards the McDonald’s restaurant. He bothers two customers leaving the restaurant. Annoyed, they take refuge in one of the women’s vehicles, reports Le Républicain Lorrain.
"You followed them, you took out your penis and you started masturbating in front of the car window," the president of the court, Guillaume Bottino, told the defendant. One of the two young women filmed the scene. She alerted the police. The Moroccan will be arrested a few minutes later, his penis still in hand. "And the video shows that it was not to urinate, as you claimed," the president of the court added.
After four months, Aziz does not deny the facts but, through his interpreter, he says "not to remember. What I am accused of is not in my culture. I was not educated that way." The prosecutor requested 6 months in prison with 2 years of probationary suspension. A few moments later, the court handed down its verdict: Aziz was sentenced to 3 months in prison with 5 years of probationary suspension. "And avoid drinking alcohol again," he was advised.
