Moroccan Man Fatally Stabbed in Street Altercation in Châlons-en-Champagne, France
An altercation is the cause of the death of a Moroccan residing in France. He received several stab wounds in the street in Châlons-en-Champagne.
The tragedy occurred on Monday, December 14 around 11 p.m., on Emile Schmit Street in Châlons en Champagne, reports L’Union. The victim, aged 33, was lying on the ground after receiving several stab wounds. Alerted, the Smur and firefighters went to the scene. Their attempt to revive the thirty-year-old failed. He succumbed to his injuries.
The first elements collected on the spot reveal that he was fatally struck by stab wounds to the neck and chest. The attack took place after he left a party. A dispute quickly turned into tragedy. The man who stabbed him immediately fled. Shortly afterwards, the police arrested a suspect during the night from Monday to Tuesday. A 36-year-old soldier who was placed in police custody pending his interrogation.
For its part, the Châlons-en-Champagne public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation for voluntary homicide. The judicial police of Reims was also seized. An autopsy of the body is underway.
