Moroccan Man Faces Prosecution for Spreading False Education News on Social Media

After being identified, the author of the false information on the "white year" in education in Morocco is now being prosecuted. This is the decision of the public prosecutor’s office at the court of first instance in Khouribga.
In a press release, the prosecutor of the king at the court of first instance in Khouribga, Brahim Zahir, stated that following the information relayed on social networks concerning a false press release attributed to the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, stating that there would be a white year for all school levels of education, the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) initiated an investigation that allowed the identification of its author.
The accused was taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation, before being brought before the public prosecutor’s office for the alleged facts, it is specified. Similarly, the public prosecutor’s office decided to refer the case to the competent court, in accordance with the provisions of the law, the statement continues.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research had formally denied the allegations that the school year would be white for all school levels, adding that it was fake news.
