Moroccan Man Dies from Heat Stroke as Murcia Faces 40°C Temperatures

A 42-year-old Moroccan died from the effects of a "heat stroke" at the Santa Lucía de Cartagena hospital where he was taken on Tuesday after collapsing on a street in Mazarrón.
The Ministry of Health of the Murcia region confirmed on Thursday the death of the Moroccan from heat stroke, reports EFE. Since Tuesday, the autonomous community has been experiencing a heat wave, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, to which an intense Saharan sand fog has been added.
The man was taken in critical condition to the Cartagena hospital after collapsing on Tuesday evening while he was in La Majada (Mazarrón) with another Moroccan who alerted the emergency services. Local police officers and an emergency unit went to the scene and transported the Moroccan to the hospital where he died a few hours later.
The victim’s body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
