Moroccan Man in Critical Condition After Shooting in Spanish Resort Town

A 21-year-old man of Moroccan origin was violently assaulted in a leisure area of Calahonda. He was admitted in critical condition to the intensive care unit of the General Hospital of Malaga.
"I heard three gunshots, I turned around and saw a man shooting at another in the container area," recounts to ABC a witness to the assault, who works as a waiter in a nearby restaurant. The victim was transferred in serious condition to the intensive care unit of the General Hospital of Malaga. But before that, the waiter recounts that a young couple who were dining at the establishment where he works, went to the crime scene. "The woman was a nurse, she was asking for rags to treat the victim’s wounds," explains this anonymous witness.
According to his account, the aggressor "parked his motorcycle on the side of the road, got off but did not remove his helmet" and shot the victim with a pistol. The attack lasted 10 seconds. Everything happened very quickly. He then left on his motorcycle towards Fuengirola," he said, recalling that a "BMW and a Volkswagen parked in the area were hit by bullets". Alerted, the emergency services went to the scene and administered first aid to the victim, before urgently transferring him by ambulance to the Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella, the closest to the scene of the assault.
After some interventions, he was then transferred to the General Hospital of Malaga where he underwent several surgical operations to extract the bullets he received. "He could become paraplegic," add sources close to the investigation conducted by the Civil Guard of the Costa del Sol to solve the murder. For the moment, the investigators favor the hypothesis of a settling of scores. The victim, listed by the police as "conflictual and with multiple criminal records," is a young Moroccan, confirms the armed institute. He is still under observation in intensive care.
