Moroccan Lawyers File Complaint Against French Rapper Booba for Alleged Insults

French rapper Booba is the target of a complaint for "defamation and insults against Moroccan women". The plaintiff, the Club of Lawyers in Morocco, believes that the presence of the performer of Scarface on Moroccan territory "may present a disturbance to public order in the current circumstances."
It was on his Twitter page that lawyer Mourad Elajouti announced that the Club of Lawyers in Morocco had decided to file a complaint against Booba for "defamation and insults against Moroccan women". According to his explanations, this decision follows the "hundreds of letters and messages that have asked us to act". "After studying the elements that have been transmitted to us," the Club of Lawyers in Morocco concludes that "the remarks made in several of his songs represent an offense to the feelings and dignity of the Maghrebian woman in general."
On social networks, Moroccans accuse the performer of "Petite fille" of misogynistic remarks made in some of his songs. "I only go to the shisha bar for the Arabs" and "the little Moroccan f*** Berlusconi," he sings in two of his songs. Moroccan Internet users have also launched a boycott campaign of his concert scheduled for June 21 in Casablanca. Fueled by this anger, the Club of Lawyers in Morocco warns: "The presence of Mr. Elie Yaffa (his civil name) on Moroccan territory may present a disturbance to public order in the current circumstances."
