Moroccan Lawmaker Questioned in World Cup Ticket Resale Investigation

Suspected of being involved in an illegal ticket resale case for the 2022 World Cup, RNI deputy Mohamed El Hidaoui was heard on Friday by the justice system.
After the disciplinary commission of his party, the parliamentarian answered before the justice system, reports Balarmane, specifying that the deputy of Safi was summoned by the judicial police on the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office near the court of appeal of Casablanca.
The name of Mohammed El Hidaoui, president of Olympique de Safi, is mentioned in a recording that has gone viral on social media. The elected official would have offered entry tickets to the national team’s matches for sums ranging from 800 to 1,200 euros, while the official price is much lower.
The National Bureau had reacted to the controversy, announcing the taking of urgent disciplinary measures. "This behavior, if proven, tarnishes the beautiful image of our national team," it said, deciding to refer the matter to the party body.
