Moroccan Lawmaker Arrested in Tangier for $160,000 in Bad Checks

The deputy to the House of Representatives, Samir Abdelmoula, was apprehended by the security services in Tangier. He is being prosecuted on the basis of a national arrest warrant issued against him for issuing bad checks.
According to Tanja24, the amount of the rubber checks, the subject of disputes, is estimated at 1.6 million DH. The PJD parliamentarian was apprehended while he was in his car at the entrance to Tangier.
The very wealthy businessman is a repeat offender. According to the same source, the elected representative of the Tangier-Assilah constituency, and former member of the PAM (Party of Authenticity and Modernity), had also been ordered to pay compensation of 15 million dirhams to customs at the end of 2020, following accusations of tax evasion.
Arrested, he was taken to the Tangier police headquarters for the purposes of the investigation.
