Moroccan King Mourns Passing of Beloved Folk Singer Mohamed Louz

King Mohammed VI has just sent a message of condolences and compassion to the family of the popular artist, Mohamed Louz, who died after a long illness.
It is in his own name and on behalf of the entire Moroccan people that King Mohammed VI expressed his sadness to the great family of artists and to the immediate family of Mohammed Louz, who lost his battle against pancreatic cancer on Wednesday.
The Sovereign says he will remember this artist of many talents for his invaluable contribution to enriching Moroccan popular song, both through his distinguished style within the Tagadda Group, of which he was one of the founders, and through his Zajal poems, inspired by authentic popular heritage.
MAP specifies that the King also shares the feelings of the artist’s family, following this cruel loss. But since the divine will is inescapable, he implores the Almighty to grant them patience and comfort, and to reward the deceased for his works in the service of his art and his homeland, and to welcome him in his vast paradise among the virtuous servants.
