Moroccan Judo Coach Arrested in Schengen Visa Fraud Scheme

The Moroccan national coach of the judo team was released on bail on Friday, September 13, after being held in custody for 48 hours by the Judicial Police. He is being prosecuted for falsifying the lists of champions presented to European embassies to obtain the "Schengen" visa.
According to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Judo Federation, relayed by Akhbarona, the national team coach used to include the names of foreign people in order to allow them to obtain the visa, in exchange for sums of money.
Embassy employees, having discovered the presence of names that were not on the list of participants submitted by the Federation, eventually alerted the latter, which filed a complaint against the suspect.
The defendant, who had admitted the facts before the Public Prosecutor, was released on bail, pending his appearance in court. In addition, the Federation decided to suspend him from his duties, pending the end of the trial.
