Moroccan Journalist Omar Radi Faces Harassment, Reporters Without Borders Demands Action

Reporters Without Borders reacts to the summons of journalist Omar Radi. For RSF, the Moroccan authorities must put an end to the harassment of the journalist.
For Reporters Without Borders, the authorities should think about shedding light on this case, rather than prosecuting the journalist. The NGO therefore calls on the Moroccan authorities to drop the charges and put an end to the harassment against the journalist, who, according to it, is only doing his job.
For the journalist, the main person concerned, the reasons for his summons would be "ridiculous", because according to him, just after the investigation by Amnesty International, he would be the victim of lynching on social networks. However, he intends to appear on Thursday morning, at the offices of the judicial police in Casablanca.
It should be recalled that Omar Radi is summoned by the police, for a presumed case of obtaining funding from abroad, in connection with intelligence services. This accusation coincides with the recent revelations of Amnesty International on the espionage and tracking via software that Omar Radi would have suffered, denounces Souhaieb Khayati, director of the North Africa office of RSF.
