Moroccan Journalist Hamid El Mahdaoui Released After Serving 3-Year Sentence

Journalist Hamid El Mahdaoui is now free. He was released from prison after serving his full three-year prison sentence at the local Tiflet 2 prison.
Charged with "failure to report an attempt to undermine the internal security of the State", the former director of the Badil.info website was sentenced to 3 years in prison with a fine of 30,000 DH.
Welcomed by his loved ones upon his release from prison, Hamid El Mahdaoui thanked all those who supported him during this ordeal. He also states that he has never defied anyone, claiming to have always sought the interest of his country.
