Moroccan Jewish Leader Extends Passover Greetings as Holiday Begins

This year, the Jewish Passover or Pessah will be celebrated from March 27 to April 4, 2021. Serge Berdugo, taking advantage of this day marking the beginning of this holiday, wishes a very happy holiday to the entire Moroccan Jewish community.
This Saturday, March 27 at sunset, the Jewish Passover or Pessah began, which will last eight days. During the holiday (Hametz), many rites will be observed, including the prohibition of eating any food (pasta, bread...) containing yeast, the prescription of eating matzos or unleavened bread, in fidelity to the account of the Exodus from Egypt and the evocation of the miracles that took place there.
On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Council of the Jewish Community of Morocco, President of the Foundation of the Judeo-Moroccan Cultural Heritage and Itinerant Ambassador, Serge Berdugo, wished happy holidays to the Moroccan Jewish community.
On the same occasion, he shared an excerpt from his film "Ya Hassra Douk Lyam" which he had made with Marc Berdugo, to pay tribute to Samuel Aaron Zédé Shulmann and which talks about the making of Unleavened Bread in the Jewish communities of Sefrou and southern Morocco, which are now part of the Moroccan historical heritage.
