Moroccan Influencer Jailed for Posting King’s Private Photos, Public Disturbance

Soufiane El Bahri, the administrator of a Facebook page that republishes private photos of King Mohammed VI, was sentenced to one year in prison. This is the verdict handed down by the court of first instance in Salé on Thursday, June 17.
In addition to the prison sentence, he will also have to pay a fine of 500 DH. Arrested near a restaurant in the Bouregreg Marina, then detained in the Al Arjat prison, Soufiane El Bahri was prosecuted for "public drunkenness, disturbance of public order and humiliation and insults against civil servants in the exercise of their duties". He had caused disturbances in public places while under the influence of alcohol.
The influencer became famous through the publication on his Facebook page of private photos of King Mohammed VI and the royal family.
