Moroccan Immigrant Rescued After Suicide Attempts on Spanish Bridge

A 28-year-old Moroccan, unable to bear living as an undocumented immigrant in Spain, attempted to commit suicide twice in 24 hours (Tuesday and Wednesday). The police negotiation team in Aragon managed to save him.
The security brigade, alerted by a citizen that a young man half-naked was hanging from a bridge, quickly rushed to the scene, accompanied by firefighters and the rescue team in case the Moroccan individual decided to jump off the bridge.
The police negotiators, who later joined the team, called on a young man from the neighborhood to exchange in Arabic with the Moroccan in order to reassure him and gain his trust. After two hours of negotiations, the agents managed to save him.
After the first aid provided by the firefighters, he was then taken to the Royo Villanova hospital in the Aragonese capital where he was admitted to the psychiatric ward.
