Moroccan Immigrant Jailed for Assaulting Red Cross Worker at Ceuta Reception Center

Placed in an immigrant reception center in Ceuta, a Moroccan national was sentenced to 8 months in prison with probation, plus a fine of 6 euros per day for 6 months, for verbally and physically assaulting a security guard and making threats against a Red Cross medical auxiliary.
The events took place in a sports hall converted by the local government for the accommodation of immigrants and foreign nationals stranded during the state of emergency period.
Known for his repeated misdeeds and his difficulties in coexisting with the other inmates, the MRE, whose identity has not been revealed, had repeatedly violated the preventive measures of the state of emergency, according to the local press.
The congestion in the reception center and the resulting overcrowding pose a real organizational problem for the local authorities, who are struggling to manage the lack of discipline of the residents and the anarchy caused by the daily altercations.
