Moroccan Imam in Spain Arrested for Alleged Hamas Funding and Radicalization

A 44-year-old Moroccan was arrested last Wednesday for apology for terrorism and dissemination of Salafist ideology among adolescents. The man is suspected of financing the military wing of Hamas, "Al Qassam Brigades".
According to the Spanish newspaper Razon, the arrest of the suspect took place as part of a security operation, carried out by the Basque police, which targeted people suspected of radicalization.
Mohamed Ch., legally established in Basajes, operated the headquarters of a local association, which is financed by the Basque authorities, to give his sermons and promote the ideology of the terrorist organization Daesh.
In a statement, the Ertzaintza, the Basque police, announced that the suspect had transferred no less than 100,000 euros to the Al Qassam Brigades in Palestine.
