Moroccan Hotels Offer Eid al-Adha Packages Without Ritual Slaughter, Following Royal Guidance

As Eid al-Adha approaches, hoteliers in certain regions of Morocco are offering special deals to attract local clientele, without including ritual slaughter to remain faithful to King Mohammed VI’s call.
Moroccan hoteliers are expecting an increase in local demand with the cancellation of the ritual sacrifice for Eid al-Adha scheduled for early June. According to the secretary general of the Hotel Industry Association of Marrakech, the cancellation of the ritual sacrifice should encourage families to "spend the Eid holidays in a different atmosphere, away from traditional habits," specifying that hotels in the ochre city will not include slaughter in their special offers this year. "Preparations are underway in Marrakech to launch these special offers that will allow families who don’t usually stay in hotels during this period to take advantage of them," he added.
The president of the Regional Hotel Industry Association in Drâa-Tafilalet, for his part, specified that this region "anticipates a revival during Eid al-Adha in terms of demand." According to this professional, the cancellation of the ritual sacrifice should "contribute to increasing attendance, offering the possibility for a greater number of citizens to spend these holidays in a hotel." The removal of slaughter from the special Eid al-Adha offers this year is "in line with the royal decision on the matter," he indicated, assuring that "preparations are underway in the region to set up these offers, and some hotel units have already started to publish and present them to customers."
