Moroccan Handball Star Yassine Idrissi Signs with Cournon-d’Auvergne
Moroccan handball player Yassine Idrissi has announced the signing of a new two-year contract with the Handball Club Cournon-d’Auvergne.
At 37 years old, the goalkeeper, whose contract with the Limoges club expires next June, has chosen to explore new horizons to enrich his career that began in 2003, reports the newspaper La Montagne.
Speaking on the occasion of this transfer, the Moroccan player said that his departure is motivated by a family factor and an interest in Cournon, a club that has been growing for several years.
Discussing his rich career, with over 400 professional matches, the future Cournonnais indicated that "the first thing is performance. I still have something left in the tank and I remain a competitor. It will also be good to pass on the grinta that I have always had in me for nineteen seasons at the highest level, to know how to put it to good use during the matches and to share my experience with certain players who, I am sure, will be attentive."
The Moroccan international aims "to take his new club higher and play in Proligue with Cournon. The club has the shoulders to assume this level, it is solid in its structures. Proligue is a very difficult and exciting championship. My ambition is to experience it under the Cournon jersey."
