Moroccan Good Samaritan Dies After Intervening in Spanish Street Dispute

While he had decided to play the mediator by trying to separate two men engaged in a violent dispute, a young Moroccan lost his life, leaving behind a wife and four daughters.
The facts date back to March 21 but the death of the Moroccan dates from Wednesday as reported by the newspaper ABC. That day, a man reprimands two young people for their dangerous behavior that could endanger the residents. This is followed by an argument that prompts the Moroccan to come out of his workshop to try to play the mediator. He receives in return a violent punch in the face, knocking him to the ground, head first.
He was then evacuated to the Virgen de la Salud hospital in Toledo where emergency surgery had to be performed on his skull. In a coma since then, he passed away last Wednesday, leaving his family in total dismay.
The mayor of the town of Yuncler, where this family resides, decided to provide emergency assistance while examining the financial situation of the mother and four daughters, all under 11 years old. The widow also appealed to the Moroccan community residing in the municipality to come to her aid in order to transfer the remains to Morocco for his burial.
As for the two assailants, aged 28 and 32, they were both arrested and detained by the Guardia civil agents. They are being prosecuted for voluntary manslaughter.
