Moroccan Gems Outshine Middle East: Fez and Marrakech Named Top 2025 Destinations
Two Moroccan cities are among the most charming in the world/Middle East-Maghreb to visit in 2025. This is the result of the ranking of a specialist in tailor-made travel.
Fez and Marrakech (Morocco) occupy the second and third place respectively in the ranking of the most charming cities to visit in the Middle East and North Africa, established by the specialist in tailor-made travel Tourlane.
The medina of Fez is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It can be discovered on foot, particularly its famous souks and historic palaces. It covers 279 hectares and is composed of 9,400 narrow and winding alleys, reserved for pedestrians and donkeys. Tourists succumb to the charm of its palaces, mosques, fountains and schools that are several centuries old.
Marrakech is so far considered the best tourist destination in Morocco. The ochre city is generally mild in winter and offers stunning architecture, markets and restaurants to enjoy. It is a must-see place where anyone can spend time during a trip to Morocco.
These two Moroccan cities outrank Doha (Qatar) and Cairo (Egypt). Sousse (Tunisia) takes first place, thanks in particular to its "narrow alleys that gently slope down to the Mediterranean Sea".
