Moroccan Fugitive Extradited After Threatening Catalan Police with Kalashnikov Attack

Wanted by the French authorities for common law offenses and illegal residence, Said Haddadi, a 25-year-old Moroccan, was extradited on Monday by the Catalan police. Seeking refuge in Spain, the individual had threatened to exterminate all the Mossos d’Esquadra with a Kalashnikov.
The suspect had been arrested on January 15 for insulting law enforcement officers. After a brief custody, the Moroccan posted a video on Snapchat, in which he made threatening remarks against the police officers. He claimed that he would "shoot with a Kalashnikov" on all the Mossos d’Esquadra, reports the spokesman for the Catalan police.
The man thought he would escape the police by opting for the Snapchat network, where videos are automatically deleted. But it was without counting on the vigilance of the investigators, who immediately initiated a judicial investigation to locate him.
Three days later, Said Haddadi was arrested in Sant Feliu de Guìxols, and prosecuted for terrorist threats. For the authorities, the Moroccan’s remarks represent a real threat, knowing that the country is on anti-terrorist alert 4. Listed in the Schengen Information System (SIS), the man was immediately handed over to the French authorities, without being tried in Spain.
