Moroccan Fuel Prices Expected to Remain Stable for Next Two Weeks
Fuel prices have remained stable in recent times. The trend should continue over the next two weeks.
"As the prices of refined products, diesel and gasoline have evolved following a stable movement internationally, theoretically, prices in Morocco will not change, at least over the next fortnight," explains Mostafa Labrak, general manager of Energysium consulting, quoted by Les Inspirations Eco. According to the daily, "the maintenance of the Brent crude oil price at the same level, namely around $80," would justify this status quo.
According to the hydrocarbon expert, "the structure of import prices for refined products is defined on an average price that includes international prices, the dollar exchange rate and the taxation of customs duties. It is fundamentally calculated over a 15-day period, including existing stock. These are components on which the Competition Council has no effect. In my opinion, there will be no impact on prices."
The daily recalls that oil prices have remained stable during this period before rising again in the last two days. "Indeed, an upward revision by the US Federal Reserve with the aim of bringing inflation back to 2% would be considered. Moreover, all eyes are on the OPEC meeting which should be held today (Wednesday)," it details.
