Moroccan Fuel Prices Drop Ahead of Ramadan as Global Oil Costs Ease

Finally some good news at Moroccan gas stations. After rising for a few weeks, pump prices are falling again starting this Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
At the gas stations, diesel is 13 DH per liter, i.e. 1 DH less than in previous weeks. This is the biggest drop in recent months, coming just a few days before the start of Ramadan 2023. According to professional sources, this drop is explained by the combination of two factors: the easing of international refined product prices between this and the previous fortnight, the average Platts having lost almost $100, to settle in the first half of February at $858; and the exchange rate, the dollar having fallen sharply against the dirham since the beginning of the year. It is currently trading at an average rate of 10.20 DH.
As for the price of gasoline, there is no change or little significant. In Casablanca, the liter of gasoline costs 14.80 DH for a few days now, as observed on site by Médias24.
