Moroccan-French Karting Prodigy, 11, Collides With Toto Wolff’s Son in Italy
At 11, Nahyl El Gahoudi was battling for the lead against the son of Toto Wolff, the Mercedes Formula 1 team boss. Their duel ended in a dramatic collision in Italy. Jack Wolff, 9, was able to return to competition the next day.

On Friday, October 23, at the Viterbo circuit, Nahyl El Gahoudi was defending the lead in a round of the IAME Warriors Finals. On the last lap, Jack Wolff, the son of Toto and Susie Wolff, tried to overtake him. The two karts touched. The young Austrian’s kart spun out.
Dimitar Uzunov was coming up behind them. In the sequence of turns, his kart became airborne and passed over Jack, hitting him on the shoulder. According to Sportnieuws, the boy got out of his vehicle unaided and received minor treatment. On Saturday morning, he got back behind the wheel and finished tenth in his round.
The 11-year-old driver involved in the collision is Franco-Moroccan. Nahyl races under the Moroccan flag. On Wednesday, he set the fastest qualifying time among 71 entrants, at 1 min 02 s 107. His participation had been decided just a few days earlier, with a new team and an engine he had not used this season.
Two wins and two decisions by the stewards
On Friday, the organizer IAME awarded him two heat wins, including one ahead of Jack Wolff. The official stewards’ record also lists his disqualification from Friday’s A-F heat for an “incorrect maneuver.”
On Saturday, in the X30 Mini final, Nahyl crossed the line second behind British driver Mayson Hibbert, 1.072 seconds back. A five-second penalty for a racing incident knocked him off the podium. The official top three were Hibbert, Zayne Burgess and Dimitar Uzunov.
On September 27, the young Franco-Moroccan had already won the Mini Gr.3 final at Viterbo in the Italian karting championship.
