Footballer Sofian Kiyine in Second Spectacular Crash: Alcohol Test Positive, License Revoked

A little more than two years after miraculously surviving a first accident where his car had crossed a gymnasium, the footballer Sofian Kiyine finds himself again at the heart of a road incident. A new spectacular accident occurred this Saturday morning in Liège, with circumstances that could prove to be serious consequences for the player.
The events took place just before 7 o’clock on Saturday morning. For a reason yet to be determined, a Mercedes class E violently hit a roundabout before continuing its course, hitting a directional post to finally come to a stop against a streetlight. The emergency services, quickly dispatched to the scene, discovered a heavily damaged vehicle.
On board the vehicle were two people, including the driver who turned out to be Sofian Kiyine. According to the firefighters who intervened on the spot, the car "exploded" under the violence of the impact. The two occupants, injured, were taken care of by the emergency services and transported to the hospital. Fortunately, the vital prognosis of the victims is not engaged.
But the case takes another turn. The alcohol test carried out on the footballer proved to be positive. This circumstance led to the immediate withdrawal of his driver’s license for a period of 15 days. This accident inevitably revives the memory of his swerve of March 2023. At the time, his vehicle had taken off on a roundabout in Flémalle before crashing spectacularly into the local sports hall. For these facts, the Liège police court had granted him the benefit of the suspension of the pronouncement.
