Moroccan Footballer Suspended for Indecent Protest Against Referee

Chamseddine Knaidil, a player for Chabab Riadi Salmi, was suspended for six matches and will have to pay a fine of 50,000 dirhams following an inappropriate gesture during a football match.
During the match between his team and Nahdat Zemamra for the 11th round of the Moroccan professional first division championship, Knaidil expressed his dissatisfaction after receiving a second yellow card in the 39th minute. As a sign of protest, he lowered his pants in front of the referee, who then showed him a red card.
The disciplinary commission of the National Professional Football League considered this behavior "unethical" and imposed an exemplary sanction on the player.
Chabab Riadi Salmi, currently 12th in the standings, will have to do without their player for the next six matches. The team will face Maghreb de Fès next Sunday, December 8, at 6 p.m., at the Berrechid municipal stadium, for the 13th round of the championship.
