Moroccan Football Federation Refutes Favoritism Claims Against National Coach Regragui

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the National Professional Football League (LNPF) reacted to the remarks of the former international Hamza Abourazzouk who mentioned during a program on Radio Mars a possible favoritism of Walid Regragui towards Wydad Casablanca.
In a joint statement, the two bodies strongly denied Hamza Abourazzouk’s remarks, describing them as "false and imaginary". The FRMF and the LNFP "condemn in the strongest terms this type of inappropriate and unfounded remarks that seriously harm first and foremost the person of the coach of the ’A’ team as well as all the components and institutions of the world of football," the note states.
The former Raja Casablanca player had declared on Tuesday on Radio Mars where he hosts a column in a program, that the coach of the Atlas Lions, Walid Regragui, only serves the "interests of WAC and wishes that they (the players of the Casablanca club, editor’s note) rest". "In the last match of the national team, Regragui summoned three WAC players, yet none of them set foot on the pitch. Three absent players and the Championship stops," criticized Abourazzouk.
The FRMF does not intend to let the former player’s unfounded accusations pass. The national football authority reserves the right "to use the various regulatory channels to counter any attack on the image and reputation of the ’A’ National Team under the leadership of Coach Regragui and his staff who are dedicated with devotion and selflessness to the upcoming events". On Wednesday, the management and editorial staff of Radio Mars apologized for their columnist’s statements.
