Moroccan Football Federation President Initiates Major Shakeup After Early AFCON Exit

The premature elimination of the "Atlas Lions" from the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt has triggered a wave of layoffs within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). President Fouzi Lekjaâ has decided to dispense with the services of several officials within the institution.
After thanking the Head of the "Information" Service of the national team, Dounia Lahrech, the President has fired the Deputy Secretary General of the Federation, Mohamed Hourane, and the Secretary General of the Professional League, Abderrahman El Bakaoui.
The series of layoffs will not stop at this stage, notes the daily Assabah, as other positions are in the sights of Fouzi Lekjaâ, in particular the Refereeing Department, as well as administrative executives who have not performed any function during the year. The Federation also had to thank Colonel Driss Lakhal, Administrator of the national team for 20 years, and his Assistant.
The elimination of the national team has provoked a lot of criticism against the technical staff. However, according to Assabah, these mass layoffs are unpredictable, especially since former officials within the Federation have also been thanked.
