Moroccan Football Federation Issues Harsh Penalties to AS FAR and Raja After Match Violence

AS FAR and Raja of Casablanca were heavily sanctioned on Friday, February 14, 2020, during the meeting initiated between the central disciplinary and fair play commission of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), following the violence recorded during the confrontation between the two clubs.
The football authorities have decided to severely punish the hooligan clubs. In this regard, the team responsible for the scandal, AS FAR, was sentenced to four games of suspension accompanied by a fine of 100,000 dirhams.
According to the press release, this decision was made when two AS FAR supporters had entered the field, leading to the suspension of the match for two minutes.
The team is also sanctioned for the use of several smoke bombs, causing heavy smoke that led to another stoppage of the match with a record of recidivism, in addition to the throwing of bottles, fireworks and foreign objects on the field after the end of the match. The club is sanctioned for injuring several security elements and some photographers.
As for the Raja de Casablanca team, it was fined 40,000 DH for the use of smoke bombs during the match with a state of recidivism, under the same article of the disciplinary code.
