Moroccan Football Federation Appeals CAF Decision on Algeria CHAN Controversy

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is not satisfied with the decision taken by the disciplinary committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), regarding the absence of Moroccan players at the CHAN and the insults towards Morocco during the opening ceremony of the competition.
The FRMF expected the CAF to sanction Algeria because of the attacks recorded during the African Nations Championship. Instead of an exemplary sanction, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) was simply reprimanded regarding the provocative speech of Nelson Mandela’s grandson at the CHAN opening ceremony. "The Disciplinary Committee considered that it should not hold the FAF responsible for the acts of others."
Fouzi Lekjaa and his team filed an appeal against the verdict, asking the CAF to assume responsibility for the absence of the Atlas Cubs from the competition, due to the insulting remarks made in the stands towards the Moroccans as well as the incendiary and hateful speech of Zwelivelile Mandela.
