In a statement published Monday, the embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Paris condemns acts it describes as serious and unworthy.

According to the Moroccan diplomatic representation, several "documented and authenticated" elements would show the Moroccan flag torn down, burned and publicly torn apart. The embassy states that the alleged perpetrators were chanting slogans indicating their Algerian origin.

Rabat denounces an "unacceptable outrage" targeting an official symbol of sovereignty and national unity. The embassy believes these acts are likely to offend Moroccan nationals living in France, Franco-Moroccans and all people committed to respect and coexistence.

The statement also mentions other videos showing women wearing the Moroccan national team jersey, accompanied by young children, victims of verbal abuse and intimidation attempts by the same individuals.

The embassy states it has contacted the competent French authorities and filed a complaint so that the perpetrators answer for their actions before the courts. It thanks the police services, French authorities and the Aubervilliers town hall for their attention and mobilization.

The Moroccan representation also calls for preserving public order and the respect owed to the symbols of all countries. It praises the behavior of Moroccans living in France, which it presents as faithful to the values of respect and brotherhood between Morocco and France.
