Moroccan Firm Begins $36 Million Abidjan Crossroads Project in Côte d’Ivoire

The development work on the Indénié Crossroads, a component of the Cocody Bay Preservation and Enhancement Project, was launched on Monday, September 16. This is a project supported by King Mohammed VI and by the President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Dramane Ouattara.
The development work on the Indénié Crossroads, a key traffic point in Abidjan, began on Monday, September 16. In charge, the Moroccan company, Société Générale des Travaux du Maroc (SGTM).
With a total cost of 36 million euros, this project, which will last 21 months, is financed by the Ivorian State and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
Ultimately, several infrastructures and road works will be carried out. This project is indeed part of the implementation of the 2nd phase of the Cocody Bay Preservation and Enhancement Project.
The development will help to streamline traffic at this key point in the Ivorian economic capital, which sees the passage of 150,000 vehicles per day.
Permanently solving the flooding problem in Cocody Bay, improving water quality and reducing odor nuisance on the site are the other objectives to be achieved.
According to the Moroccan Ambassador to Abidjan, this project will greatly contribute to creating a new dynamic economic and tourist hub that will have positive repercussions on employment and the attractiveness of the Ivorian metropolis.
