Moroccan Film Stars Farah El Fassi and Omar Lotfi Announce Divorce Amid New Movie Release

The iconic couple of Moroccan cinema, Farah El Fassi and Omar Lotfi, have officially divorced. The news, widely relayed on social media, has been confirmed by a source close to the actress.
Although the exact reasons for the separation remain private, persistent disagreements would have led to the breakup after ten years of marriage. A divorce procedure for "discord" had been initiated by Farah El Fassi a few months ago.
This announcement comes at the time of the release in theaters of Omar Lotfi’s first feature film, "Al Batal", in which Farah El Fassi plays the lead role and is the artistic director. A professional collaboration that is therefore concluding in a difficult personal context.
Fahd El Hachimi, a Moroccan journalist, expressed his sadness on social media while wishing the best to the two artists: "Although I was opposed to your decision to divorce from the outset, homes have their secrets."
