Moroccan Fans Storm Field After Friendly Match, Causing Damage at Barcelona Stadium

Espanyol considers "unacceptable" the incidents that occurred during the friendly match played on Friday between Morocco and Chile (2-0) at the RCDE stadium in Barcelona, with Moroccan supporters storming the pitch at the end of the match.
Minor incidents were recorded during the match, but the clashes and incivility of the Moroccan supporters were noted at the end of the match. The latter forced the barriers and invaded the pitch, causing significant material damage.
In any case, the damages will be covered by the insurance taken out by Espanyol. The club reassures that neither the grass nor the goals are damaged and that the next La Liga match against Valencia scheduled for Sunday, October 2 can be played on the facilities.
For the moment, the damage has not yet been assessed, but the access doors to the stadium that were damaged have been repaired the same night on Friday. Espanyol renews its availability to continue to host this type of event. "The facilities are the pride of the club," say the club officials.
However, learning from the incidents of the friendly match between Morocco and Chile, Espanyol plans to strengthen security measures to reassure any potential organizers of events in the stadium.
