Moroccan Fans Celebrate World Cup Advancement with Peaceful Rally on Paris’ Champs-Élysées

In contrast to the incidents recorded in Belgium and the Netherlands, Morocco’s qualification for the second round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was celebrated calmly on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Moroccan supporters celebrated Morocco’s qualification for the World Cup round of 16 all over Europe. In France, it was on the Champs-Élysées that hundreds of people, armed with the Moroccan flag, expressed their joy. Morocco’s last qualification for this stage of the World Cup dates back to 1986.
"It’s a great pride," explains a young woman... "We are very, very happy, even moved, because we did not expect this. May it continue," rejoices another.
"It’s the greatest moment in the history of Moroccan football," rejoices another young man.
Despite the noise, honking, and whistling, no incident was reported. The Moroccan supporters of Paris have their fingers crossed for the national team, which will face Spain on December 6.
