Moroccan Family with Young Children Faces Homelessness After Illegal Entry into Spain

A Moroccan couple and their three minor daughters aged 12, 8 and 5 arrived illegally in Pamplona from Morocco a month ago, hidden in a trailer loaded with vegetables. Without resources or assistance, they have been on the street since Friday.
The family was living in the home of a relative in Morocco before deciding to immigrate to Spain. The parents pawned their most precious belongings to pay the 2,000 euros that a truck driver asked them to enter the peninsula illegally.
After three days of travel, hidden in a trailer loaded with vegetables, they arrived in Madrid with their daughters aged 12, 8 and 5. Then they took a bus to reach Pamplona where they were hosted by an acquaintance, reports Diario de Navarra.
After a month, the acquaintance asked them to vacate the premises. With the little money left after being victims of theft, the couple began looking for housing. He says he has met the social worker at least five times to get help in this serious situation of social emergency. Without success.
The parents are worried for their daughters who cannot be enrolled in school because of this situation. "We are afraid they will get sick. And also that they will take them away from us." Since Friday, the family has been homeless and on the street. The municipal police paid for them to spend a night in a hostel. For now.
